About Tea Essence
Our Story
Tea Essence was founded in 2015 by a group of passionate advocates for Taiwan's tea culture. Founder Lin Chih-Yuan grew up in the Lishan tea-growing region, watching farmers harvest with care and artisans transform leaves into something extraordinary. Determined to share this heritage, he and his partners opened the first Tea Essence shop in Taipei's Da'an District — a place where the warmth of the mountains meets the city.
Our Philosophy
We believe the best tea comes from direct relationships. Tea Essence works hand-in-hand with tea farmers across Taiwan's most celebrated growing regions — Lishan, Alishan, Cedar Creek Valley, and the Oriental Beauty homeland of Emei. Every batch is cupped and approved by our in-house tea masters. Respect for the land and devotion to craft are the foundation of everything we do.
